Katharine McPhee brought a classic romantic air to an interview and special musical performance with her husband, producer David Foster.
While appearing on “Live with Kelly and Ryan” with Foster, McPhee took center stage in a black silk dress. The Anine Bing sleeveless number featured a high neck and midi length, appearing both bohemian and lightweight appropriately for the summer season. The actress’ going out look included a slightly oversized gray plaid blazer with pointed lapels and black buttons, and a large blue Burberry tote bag with black leather trim.
Rounding out the “Smash” star’s look is a set of gold and silver layered necklaces from her upcoming jewelry line, KMF Jewelry, as well as layered rings and several gold bracelets.

For shoes, McPhee stepped up her ensemble with a pair of stiletto sandals. The black leather ensemble featured slightly square toes, as well as thin toe straps connected by side loops to a tied top strap. Slingback straps and cropped 3-inch stilettos completed the pair, giving them a summer-worthy silhouette and height.

The actress’ shoes were also on display for a musical performance of Foster’s song “Something to Shout About.” The duo also sat down for an interview with Ryan Seacrest and Kelly Ripa, discussing topics including meeting on “American Idol,” romance, raising their son, and a musical “Betty Boop.” You can watch their full interview below:
The star’s style of sandals is a must-have silhouette for summer, where ‘naked’ sandals with square toes and strappy straps are all the rage. The pair’s sultry appearance, contemporary aesthetic and ease of slipping on and off have made them particularly popular, as seen in new styles from Magda Butrym, Schutz and Frame. Besides McPhee, stars like Camila Cabello, Claire Holt and Anna Dello Russo have also strapped themselves in recent weeks in sleek sandals by Jacquemus, Alexandre Birman and Giuseppe Zanotti.

As for shoes, McPhee opts for versatile and bohemian pairs. The “American Idol” alumni can often be seen in strappy stiletto sandals in neutral leather, as well as metallic hues, from brands such as Jimmy Choo, Cesare Paciotti and Alexandre Birman – as well as affordable brands like Aldo. She’s also been seen in sparkling, PVC and printed point-toe pumps by Christian Louboutin, LKBennett and Rene Caovilla over the years. Outside of work hours, she has been spotted in equally sharp footwear like open-toe sandals, boots and sporty trainers from Bruno Magli, Nike and Adidas. McPhee is also a favorite on the New York Fashion Week circuit, sitting front row for designers such as Pamella Roland, Rebecca Taylor and Michael Kors over the years.
